Here’s Why I Stopped Pinning Stories On My Medium Profile

I simply stopped and I like this process better.

What Does Pinning Mean?

On your profile, Medium gives you the option to pin up to 5 stories. This means that these stories will always show up at the top of your profile.

They will remain there until you change them. Sometimes writers pin “About Me” stories, so that they always show at the beginning of the page.

You’ll see that your story is “Pinned” as indicated in the top left corner. (screenshot by Linda Ng)

I Used To Love Pinning

When I started on Medium, I always made sure to pin at least one story on my profile. Occasionally, I would rotate the stories. I felt it would be boring to keep the same stories there all the time. It was a little task I did whenever I was on Medium.
