I Finally Won The Covid Lottery
For 3 years, little ol’ me was so lucky to miss the Covid train. At the peak of the pandemic, I was super diligent about wearing my mask, staying isolated, and washing my hands. I was safe.
This year, people have already stopped wearing masks, but I still wear it when I go out. Call me paranoid, but I think I have grown used to it. You can never be too safe. Most of all, I was afraid of getting long Covid. Some effects stay with you for months and that would be terrible.
Well, let’s talk about the events that happened last Friday. All seemed normal, I finished work and looked forward to the night’s events. I had dinner at a nice Japanese place and ordered a Chicken Katsu combo meal. It was delicious! I was so hungry and polished off the whole thing — even the entire bowl of rice.
After filling my belly, I went home and prepared for badminton. All still seemed well when I got there. I warmed up and started my games. My belly felt a little bloated and gassy. I ignored it and continued to play. Gradually, they became more severe and I felt painful gas pains. I was trying so hard to hold…
