Why Don’t People Use Soap When They Wash Their Hands?
I was in a shopping plaza today and had to use the restroom. As I was finishing my business and preparing to leave, a woman came up to the sink beside me. She proceeded to rinse her hands with water and then she left. That’s it.
Um. Why didn’t she use any soap? I have seen this more than once and I always cringe. It happened at work many times too. Your hands are wet anyways, how come people don’t realize that just rinsing with water does nothing to remove bacteria and germs? It’s a waste of time to do that. Why not lather up with soap and do it the right way? It takes an extra 30 seconds to make sure your hands are clean.
I mentioned this to a friend before and he said that some people were allergic to soap or their hands were sensitive because of issues like eczema. I guess that can be true, but I’m sure not everyone I saw had an issue! I suppose I have to give those the benefit of the doubt ~ they might use some other form of cleaning their hands, like gentle antibacterial wipes or some other soothing hand sanitizer.
Since I caught Covid recently, I’m even more paranoid about trying to be clean and hygienic, especially when I am in public places.
